Cheers for the 2009 winner

Tomorrow it's time again, an old year has passed and a new one is started!

If you celebrate at home with family or friends of the year, why not with the winner of champagne?

Too expensive?

Where!

The Austrian consumer magazine test has 40 sparkling wines from Champagne and sparkling wine tested & Co. (No. 1 / 2009). The clear winner is not expensive champagne, but a sparkling wine from Hofer (Aldi) just as much as € 3.49.

Mailberger Gutssekt Brut, Trinity Winery Ltd. in Rohrendorf to get € 3.49 in Hofer

I have tasted that champagne and of course it can, although I rather prefer semi-dry sparkling wines, recommend further. This price performance ratio is unbeatable!

Why drink so "expensive booze" (sau ...) when you can enjoy almost nothing the Champagne winner!

Incidentally, the second one champagne has to € 32.60.

Also recommended I find the dry Goldeck to € 5.59, you get this sparkling wine at Spar, Billa, Merkur and Adeg.

So read it to crash, with the winner of champagne!

You and your family a Happy 2009!

PS If you prefer to drink wine, you'll find here wines with excellent value for money:

Wine shop in area wine shops with "farm-gate 'prices

Who does not love wine, women and song remains a fool his whole life. "Martin Luther"

What does "from the farm"?

You pay in the area wine store the same price as the wine itself. (No charge)

Area wine shops there almost every wine region, only you pay in most wine shops more money than the growers.

Advantages:

  1. You must not drive at any given grower. (Saves time and fuel costs)
  2. There is usually a very large selection of wines
  3. You can taste the wines before
  4. Staff advises that to you
  5. A few wine shops offer wine at farm gate "price to
  6. Some also supply to Germany and Switzerland
  7. Wine shop online

Disadvantages:

  1. You need to take any wine store several 100 km
  2. Many wine shops charge for the tasting, except you buy over 100 - a €
  3. You do not get any wine in a winery in the program (usually grades 2-8)
  4. Many wine shops have a price premium (up to 30 percent)

Here I go wine shopping regularly:

Summary: Those who love good wine drinking, should not necessarily spend much money for it. Supermarket and discount wines have a very good value for money, but not every wine you can drink really well. Why buy only one bottle to try.

Wine growers to buy either directly from the farmer or in a wine bar area. The only drawback, you have to drive long distances and usually the cost of fuel and money. Therefore always buy wine with several friends and split the fuel costs.

Conclusion: Wine is among the most useful beverages, among medicine the most tasteful food among the most pleasant. (Plutarch, Greek philosopher, c. 100 AD)

Wines at the vineyard Buy now, my secret favorite

The sound of the cork, reminds me of Hochgehen the curtain at a premiere, if only God alone knows what awaits us there. (Francois Mauriac)

The quality of wine in Austria in recent years greatly increased, unfortunately, also the price. Cost about 10 years ago a top red wine cuvee from the Middle Burgenland (Blaufränkischland) about 120th - to 130 - Schilling (8.70 to 9.50 to € €) we are today at a price of about 18 - to 20, - Euro. This is a price increase of about 106 percent.

Fortunately, there are some growers who do not have such a name, but a very good wine at a fair price to offer but. Here I would like to introduce you to some of my secret favorites.

Note: This is not the best wine or the best wine, but to the best value for money. On my side it will give tips to save money in the budget and not about who has the best wine. To German: How much good wine I get for my money. Just because a wine three times as much cost, it is usually not three times as well. (Exceptions give it of course)

The best wines under 7 - € from discounters (wine from Austria)

Wines are like a woman - not resistant, reticent and difficult to satisfy. Whenever you open it, you risk being disappointed, they are but in the form - and they are usually with good care - what bliss! "Baron Philippe de Rothschild"

At the discount stores is the l Auswah not as great as in the supermarkets, but they score with the best value for money. At these prices, some wines are very well managed, especially older vintages of CALLIOPE GRAND CUVEE BARRIQUE I found very good.

Note: Today I have a bottle of Penny Market KREMSER SCHMIDT GREEN VELTLINER bought at. Here I noticed that during the same shelf are three different vintages: 2005, 2006 and 2007. Watch therefore, for each purchased bottle on the vintage!

These are my wine Favorites:

  • Hofer

Dry white wine:

FRESH FRUITY BURGENLAND CUVEE 2006, dry, 10.5% vol., Price 1,99 €
Trinity winery Rohrendorf

Apricot, light and sweet, spicy, entry, fair price

Nice fruit smell, of cinnamon, fair price

CALLIOPE GRAND CUVEE BARRIQUE 2004, dry, 13.5% vol., Price 4,49 €
Trinity winery Rohrendorf

Fruity, cherry, very round, top at that price

FLAT TOP LAKE LIMITATION CUVEE 2005, dry, 13.5% vol., Price 4,99 €
Flate Lake, Jois

Berry fruit, some wood

  • Lidl

Sweet:

GOLS LATE HARVEST CUVEE 2005, sweet, 10% vol. Price € 2.49
Pannonian Weingartner, Gols

Fruity, slightly pear, light and sweet

  • Penny Market

Dry white wine:

KREMSER SCHMIDT GREEN VELTLINER 2006, dry, 11.5% vol. Price 2,99 €
Winzer Krems, Krems

Fruity, apple, peppery, lively acidity value for money, very good

In summary, I can say that the discounters, Hofer in surely is the leader, because he also has the larger selection of Austrian wines. Although no one gets Top Tröpferl, but at these prices has Hofer secure the best value for money. The wine cellar of the Trinity, cane village, are generally recommended throughout.

In Lidl me tastes just the late harvest, all the rest I do not think well. The selection of dry wines is not very big at Lidl, it offers almost only sweet Austrian wines.

Enjoy your money!

Do you know some good wines at discount stores 7 - €, possibly from another country, then please write to me but your tip in the comment field, I would look forward to.

<- The best wines under 7 - € from the supermarket (wine from Austria)

Wines at the vineyard Buy now, my secret favorite ->

The best wines under 7 - € from the supermarket (wine from Austria)

Today I'd like you favorite supermarket wine 7th - € introduce my.

Tastes are known to differ and you should always buy a bottle to try. Since I only wines for the price performance ratio, and not to assess preferences have mine, everyone is sure the right bottle of wine for this.

Wines from 5 - to 7, - € for you, maybe even very expensive, so I have some initial wines under 5 - € tested. Some wines from 5 - € can certainly compete with 10 - to 12 - € wines. Anyone who knows something in the wine scene, who knows what you pay for Austrian top wines.

Since I have tasted these wines for a long time, it may be that there is no longer the tested vintage, vote or not the prices. If this is the case you should try the new vintage, perhaps this is as good as the old year. I would imagine over time but always new wines.

Wines to 3 - € be an certainly not cut from the stool, but presented here have a super Preistleistungsverhältnis. These wines are very well suited for cooking and a splash of wine (juice) taste, but also as Achterl very well.

Professional cooking tip: If you a wine is left, then freeze them in a vessel, or an ice cube in a Ackerl. Then you always have a wine ready for cooking and not just open a whole bottle of wine. And most importantly, take a bad or faulty wine for cooking, the taste of the man.

The wine tricks of the supermarkets and major wine info, no ice to be led around again

Wine drinkers are looking good, are smart, sexy and healthy.
"Hugh Johnson" (English "wine guru" and author of several bestsellers on wine)

In this eighth scams you should:

  1. In the shelves of wines from certain wine-growing regions are combined into groups. At eye level are the wine bottles, the highest profit for the supermarket bring. (And usually expensive wines)
  2. The cheaper wines are at the bottom, and the Tetra Pack Wines and larger bottles of 1-2 liter capacity. The most expensive bottles are at the top.
  3. Even with the horizontal arrangement can be assumed that left on the shelf rather the cheap wines, the wines are more expensive and right. This also has a reason for it is based mostly on the shelf from left to right. Pay attention to your next purchase!
  4. Special offers in boxes of 6 to Spontaneinkaufen animate, can indeed be a bargain, but they are mostly a flop and the wine is not drinking really.
  5. In principle, you ought to try just one bottle of wine always buy, and not more than one, just because they are now on sale.
  6. It is also often balance bottles a spot price offered, is there but mostly about old wines. Watch therefore carefully at the label, which usually are white wines, the older three years are when and red wines, the period of consumption already degraded have at it. It can also be white elephants, which are sold off for reasons of space.
  7. Never buy the light white wines than 3 years older. These wines are usually lost after one year of freshness and liveliness.
  8. Wines under 5 - € 2-3 years should be drunk from within, since then the quality decreases greatly. These wines are drinkable now, and also made it.
  9. Do not be a nice bottle of wine with a nice label to induce purchase. The wine in the supermarket may not cost you, so buying one often depends on the design. The course know, the marketing experts and develop a beautiful design, exterior Hui shame inside. And this promise will be disappointed very often.

You should avoid this at the vineyard:

  1. Try the cheese, can taste many wines better.
  2. Criticism of a wine.
  3. Wine is allowed to spit, if you go by own car. There is no spittoon (vessel) ready, you can certainly ask for one.
  4. If you get free wine tasting, you should buy a service charge at least a few bottles of wine.
  5. Always drink this water without gas, as the carbon dioxide can taste particularly young white wines with more acidity, more acidic.
  6. The only attack on the wine glass stem.
  7. In a cellar tour not knock on the wooden barrels, that would be like if someone looks into your purse.

The final tip: If you bought a wine a wine that has an error or corked, then you can usually change the wine.

Therefore: A drinking vessel as soon as it is empty, makes no real joy again. "Wilhelm Busch"

Now it's Their First, in the next few articles I present to you some value for money wines under 7 - above €.

'- wine sources where a purchase is worthwhile

The best wines under 7 - € from the supermarket (wine from Austria) ->

Buy wine, where a purchase is worthwhile

What policies have the wine and the common? You notice after the event, which bottle you have chosen!

Nowadays, you can already buy wine on every corner, makes the great variety but not easy to find a good and cheap wine. So you do not "pig in a poke" buy, I would like some shopping tips on hand to give you.

Where you can buy wine everywhere, and what are pros and cons of it?

  • Wine from the supermarket

Wines:
Wines of large companies, often bulk and industrial wines. But there are always regional winemakers wines that are only produced for the supermarket.

First / Disadvantage:
The wines are meant for immediate drinking pleasure, and usually better than its reputation.

  • Drug store / gas station / Furniture Shops / Garden

Wines:
Mass wines from major wine regions known

Advantages / disadvantages:
These wines are very cheap, but rarely well.

  • Discount stores (Hofer / Aldi / Lidl / Penny-Markt)

Here, under the same label, sold for many years, different wines from different vendors.

Wines:
Small range of popular wine growing areas, often there are weekly loss leaders.

First / Disadvantage:
While there are always some drinkable and affordable wines, but there are also wines that are drinkable. Especially special offers are rarely worth the money.

  • Department Stores:

Wines:
usually have extensive wine departments and wine for every budget.

First / Disadvantage:
The price tag wines are often described in detail. There are also professionals that you can ask for advice. Now and then there are also very good action wines.

  • Wine shop (such as wine & Co.)

Very large selection of wines of different price categories, also for the small purse. In most cases, only selected wine growers in the program (not mass-produced).

First / Disadvantage:
Wein & Co., each week several wines on offer, you can taste for free, too. The wines cost at least 30 percent more than the wine itself from 6 or 12 bottles of that wine is just off it. Ich habe festgestellt, dass bei Sonderangeboten und Rabattaktionen der Wein noch immer teuerer ist, als beim Winzer.

  • Winzer / Weinbauer

If something is traveling much for wine lovers, because not everyone is lucky like me, to live in a wine mecca. If your wine stocks are exhausted, a worthwhile trip to some wineries in any case. The best way to take a few friends, and then share the fuel costs.

Many winemakers have 1-2 times a year a so-called "open cellar door," where all are free to taste the wines it. Some growers offer this day your entire range of wines cheaper by up to 10 percent. Some wine makers are old vintages for reasons of space (you need space for the new age groups) sold off at a special price.

Advantages / disadvantages:
The prices are lower than in the trade. You can taste the wines and bought previously so not the "pig in a poke". Nowhere else can you learn more about wine, than at the vineyard itself, many winemakers also an online store and to supply a certain number of bottles for free.
You have to be very long routes take in buying, unless you live in a wine region. (Time and fuel costs)

  • Wine on the Internet

Over the Internet you get almost all wines, either directly from the growers on its homepage, and the wine retailer or through auctions.

Advantages / disadvantages:
You can compare prices and search engines, many dealers and shops are about. It is important always to pay attention to the shipping costs, and whether the delivery is insured. Obviously you can taste these wines before you leave and not only to the description of wine online stores.

  • Area wine shops

If one of my favorites, they are right in a wine region and only offer wines of the region.

Advantages / disadvantages:
Area wine shops have a wide range several winemakers in the region, it saves the directions on each individual wine producers. The wine prices are mostly "from the farm", which means that you pay as much as with the winemakers directly. It also offers tastings, but you need to pay.

Finally, one can say that there are in the supermarket and discounter at times good value for money wines, bargain deals are not usually recommended. My favorites are the wine or the wine bar area. Here you get the best price, and so I am going to share my secret insider tips.
